If SpaceX completes the milestone-based requirements of the design contract, then NASA will pay SpaceX US$135 million in design development funding. SpaceX and teams led by Dynetics and Blue Origin won NASA contracts Thursday totaling nearly $1 billion to develop lunar landers that could carry … Obviously SpaceX will not make special design of landing legs for Lunar Lander. SpaceX’s Starship vehicle will stand around 160 feet (50 meters) tall with a diameter of roughly 30 feet (9 meters), dwarfing the other human-rated lunar lander concepts.

SpaceX’s lander, by comparison, is gargantuan — based on its Starship spacecraft that is eventually intended to take people to Mars. This vehicle will mostly get highly simplified technologies from the general version of the spacecraft… Blue Origin’s contract is worth $579m, SpaceX’s $135m and Dynetics will receive $253m. SpaceX was one of five companies announced on Nov. 18, 2019, as taking part in NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services or CLPS initiative.
